Our Contemporary Gin is known as Granddad Jack’s ‘gateway gin’ and at 37.5% ABV, it is a smooth, clean, botanical gin that’s easy to make friends with. This gin tastes like a beachside gin should; relaxed, soothing & fresh. With a gentle botanical list of cucumber, rosehip, lemon myrtle, grapefruit peel and juniper, this gin is soft and not at all herbal.
Greenhouse Gin surprises the gin enthusiast and has the ability to convert those who never considered themselves gin drinkers. If you’re new to gin or you’ve had a negative experience with the spirit, then this will make it all better!
Best served with our Grapefruit Tonic, ice and a dehydrated grapefruit slice or in our Seymour Street signature cocktail.
Behind the name: The name was inspired by Granddad Jack’s beloved garden and greenhouse, which, later in life, became a place for people in the neighbourhood to drop in for a visit, sit and chat.
Category: Contemporary, Botanical
Botanical List: Juniper, Grapefruit Peel, Lemon Myrtle, Rose-hip, Cucumber
Sit down to sip this one! At 57% ABV and after 28 iterations, this gin is fierce but worthy, full of cinnamon, clove, orange, star anise and cardamom. Think spice, heat and not an unfriendly clash with juniper, but full-flavoured all the same. This gin is fierce but a worthy assault on the senses.
A first of its kind, this gin will make the whisky-lover in your life very happy by packing heat and baking spice, balanced with juniper but abrupt all the same.
Served best with grapefruit tonic, ice and garnished with dehydrated orange. For those up to the challenge, you can try sipping it straight.
Behind the name: This Navy Strength Gin represents all of Granddad
Jack’s adventures and the tough roads he travelled throughout his early years. At age fourteen, Granddad Jack rode sixty-five miles to work at a sheep station every week in order to save the family farm from the Bailiff. Just like the man himself, there was no better fit than our navy-strength gin to represent such a mighty effort & speak to his character and hard-arse nature.
Botanical List: Juniper, Cardamom, Star Anise, Cinnamon, Clove, Orange Peel
The Gold Coast Tasting Room limited-release Milo Spirit is the second limited release in the Granddad Jack’s Nostalgia Project.
This release is our take on the well-known Aussie staple, Milo. Made with Milo Powder, Malt Extract, Manuka Honey, Milo Cereal and Vanilla Beans, this liquid is surprisingly clear but incredibly moreish and a straight drop of liquid nostalgia.
Enjoy this boozy beverage in our Milo Milkshake with vanilla ice cream or a classic G&T with Long Rays Native Tonic and a dehydrated orange and burnt cinnamon stick to garnish.
TASTING NOTES
NOSE: Sweet, Malty Milo
PALATE: If you had a dream to make Milo colourless and boozy, this would be it.
